Technology has advanced a great deal since the old days. While, back a few decades ago, appraisers didn’t have much to go on in terms of how to increase the speed or efficiency of their jobs, today they have a host of technological advancements at their disposal from companies such as ReportBuilder Pro and others.
Software is the most significant advancement in the industry. It helps appraisers carry all their data around on mobile devices and laptops, schedule all their appointments with ease, track all the necessary types of data that they have to collect, and keep track of all the problems they find with each of the properties that they appraise.
Advanced means of detecting problems have also improved. Aside from being able to use equipment that can help them, for instance, tell whether or not the wiring and electric systems of a large building are up to par with required standards, they also have at their disposal technology such as drone photography to show a bird’s eye view of the property and provide invaluable information about the state of the roof and other areas around the property in question.
It is without doubt that technology has advanced a lot in the past few years alone, and as it continues to make large progress, we can expect many more improvements that will make the job of a real estate appraiser more thorough and efficient with each passing year.
